Azure Databricks Technical Team Lead
Position Type: Full-Time / Contract
Location: Charlotte, NC (100% Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Experience Required: 12+ Years Total (7–10+ Years in Data Engineering & Technical Team Leadership)
Core Tech Stack: Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Python/Scala, SQL, ADLS, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and foster a high-performance engineering team; conduct code reviews to enforce data engineering best practices and code quality.
Databricks Solution Engineering: Design and build scalable, enterprise-grade data processing pipelines and data lake architectures using Azure Databricks and Apache Spark.
End-to-End Delivery Management: Manage the full software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering and technical design to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Data Lake & Database Architecture: Implement modern data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and dimensional data modeling using Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) and Azure SQL Database.
Stakeholder & Risk Management: Bridge communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, identifying and mitigating delivery risks to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
12+ years of total technical experience with a strong track record of leading data engineering teams.
Expertise in Azure Databricks & Spark: Deep hands-on experience building complex data pipelines and data lake solutions.
Core Programming: Advanced proficiency in Python, Scala, or SQL.
Cloud Data Storage: Strong experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure SQL Database.
Data Engineering Mastery: Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT architecture, and data warehousing principles.
Onsite Availability: Complete willingness to work 100% Onsite (5 days/week) in Charlotte, NC from Day 1.
Preferred Qualifications:
CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps.
Exposure to Machine Learning frameworks, data governance, and compliance standards.
Microsoft Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate).
