Azure Cloud Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

Cloud Operations & Engineering

• Implement, maintain, and optimize cloud resources within the Azure environment to ensure fault tolerance and high availability.

• Enforce strict security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), network controls, and cost governance policies.

• Conduct routine access reviews, manage role assignments, and evaluate least-privilege IAM protocols.

• Manage vendor-required system updates to ensure ongoing compatibility.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, naming conventions, tagging standards, and cloud governance artifacts.

Monitoring, Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

• Monitor Azure services and application workloads to guarantee optimal uptime, availability, and performance.

• Investigate and resolve complex issues related to network connectivity, access, security, and service degradation.

• Conduct diagnostic deep dives utilizing logs, metrics, traces, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.

• Analyze system health and actively tune application performance for maximum efficiency.

Operational Support & Incident Management

• Participate in standard operational cycles, including pattern monitoring, incident reviews, and maintenance readiness assessments.

• Triage production issues, drive rapid resolution, and document comprehensive root-cause analyses.

• Define precise change requests, detailed implementation plans, and reliable rollback procedures.

• Execute and support necessary off-hours maintenance and operational tasks.

Technical Development & Security Compliance

• Analyze and map complex end-to-end data flows across transactional systems, financial records, and reporting pipelines.

• Support the continuous optimization of system integrations and data movement.

• Ensure system behavior, architecture, and logging patterns strictly adhere to PCI and other relevant regulatory compliance standards.

• Securely manage Azure Key Vaults, passwords, certificates, and credential storage.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Partner with architects, engineers, management, and cross-functional teams to maximize the utilization and effectiveness of Azure services.

• Provide subject matter expertise and best-practice guidance across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS architectures.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Successfully navigate and support multiple concurrent projects with complex technical scopes.
