AWS Sr. Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Senior Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in AWS cloud services, Infrastructure as Code, container platforms, CI/CD, and cloud observability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS ECS/EKS, Terraform, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Splunk, and Dynatrace.

Required Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional — certification must have been obtained within the last three years.
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate — certification must have been obtained within the last three years.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate container platforms using Amazon ECS/EKS, including EC2 and/or Fargate.
• Configure and manage:
  • ECS/EKS clusters
  • Services
  • Task definitions
  • Auto Scaling
  • IAM roles
  • ALB/NLB integrations
• Implement modern deployment strategies, including blue/green deployments and controlled rollouts.
• Establish strong rollback mechanisms and maintain consistency across environments.
• Create and govern reusable Terraform modules and Infrastructure-as-Code patterns for:
  • VPC
  • IAM
  • ECS
  • Logging and Monitoring
  • Shared Services
• Manage Terraform remote state, versioning, and promotion across environments.
• Understand existing processes and implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Spinnaker.
• Standardize build, testing, artifact promotion, and deployment processes for ECS environments.
• Implement end-to-end cloud observability, including:
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
  • Metrics
  • Distributed Tracing
  • Logging
  • Dashboards
  • Alerts
  • SLO-oriented operational readiness
• Integrate Dynatrace and Splunk with ECS workloads.
• Establish standards for telemetry collection, including sidecar-based collection patterns where applicable.
• Ensure operations teams have the necessary monitoring and diagnostic capabilities to rapidly identify and resolve issues.

• 5+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services.
• 3+ years of experience with Terraform/IaC.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS ECS and/or EKS.
• 2+ years of experience with Jenkins.
• 2+ years of experience with Spinnaker.
• Experience with Splunk and cloud logging.
• Experience with Dynatrace and application monitoring.
• Strong understanding of AWS networking, IAM, compute, containers, and load balancing.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with containerized application deployment and orchestration.
• Strong understanding of cloud observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Experience implementing secure, scalable, and highly available AWS solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
