We are seeking a Senior AWS Infrastructure as Code Engineer to design, build, automate, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise application development and production environments.
This is a highly hands-on engineering position centered on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, AWS, and CI/CD automation. The engineer will be responsible for creating scalable and reusable infrastructure solutions that allow development teams to provision and manage AWS environments consistently and reliably.
The ideal candidate has deep AWS infrastructure experience combined with significant hands-on expertise building Terraform-based infrastructure automation in complex enterprise environments.
Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform as the primary Infrastructure as Code platform.
Develop reusable Terraform modules, templates, and deployment patterns that can be consumed across application and infrastructure teams.
Automate provisioning of AWS compute, networking, storage, security, and supporting cloud services.
Define infrastructure configurations for servers, storage, networking, security, and application environments.
Build standardized infrastructure patterns that allow development teams to deploy environments consistently across development, testing, staging, and production.
Develop and maintain Jenkins pipelines for automated infrastructure provisioning and deployment.
Integrate Terraform workflows into CI/CD pipelines, including planning, validation, deployment, and environment management.
Manage Terraform state, variables, modules, dependencies, and environment-specific configurations.
Troubleshoot failed Terraform deployments, infrastructure configuration issues, Jenkins pipelines, and AWS resource problems.
Maintain and support existing AWS CloudFormation templates and deployments.
Help modernize or migrate existing CloudFormation and manually provisioned infrastructure toward standardized Terraform-based deployments where appropriate.
Develop Python scripts and AWS Lambda functions to support infrastructure automation where Terraform or native AWS capabilities alone are not sufficient.
Implement infrastructure standards related to security, IAM, networking, storage, monitoring, and availability.
Improve the scalability, reliability, repeatability, and maintainability of cloud infrastructure.
Partner with application development, DevOps, security, networking, and architecture teams to translate infrastructure requirements into automated solutions.
Create technical documentation and establish Infrastructure as Code standards and engineering best practices.
10+ years of professional infrastructure, cloud engineering, DevOps, or related technology experience.
Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Approximately 9–10+ years of AWS experience, with advanced knowledge of AWS infrastructure and services.
4+ years of hands-on Terraform experience within production enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience developing reusable Terraform modules rather than simply executing or modifying existing Terraform configurations.
Strong understanding of Terraform architecture, state management, modules, variables, dependencies, providers, and environment management.
Experience provisioning AWS networking, compute, storage, IAM, security, and other cloud resources through Terraform.
4+ years of Jenkins experience, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience integrating Terraform deployments into Jenkins pipelines.
Experience developing and maintaining AWS CloudFormation templates.
Experience with Python for infrastructure automation and scripting.
Experience developing AWS Lambda functions using Python.
Strong troubleshooting skills across AWS infrastructure, Terraform deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
AWS Professional-level certification or equivalent practical expertise.
HashiCorp Terraform certification.
Experience building internal cloud platforms or self-service infrastructure capabilities for application development teams.
Experience creating enterprise-wide Terraform standards, modules, or frameworks.
Experience migrating infrastructure from CloudFormation or manual provisioning to Terraform.
Experience with Terraform testing, validation, security scanning, and policy enforcement.
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code within highly regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.
Master's degree in a technology-related discipline.
The ideal candidate is an Infrastructure as Code engineer first and foremost. They should have deep AWS knowledge but should not simply be an AWS administrator or cloud engineer who has occasionally used Terraform.
They should have hands-on experience writing Terraform, creating reusable modules, designing IaC standards, integrating Terraform with Jenkins, and using code to automate AWS infrastructure at scale.
A strong candidate should be able to explain how they have structured Terraform across multiple environments, handled state and dependencies, created reusable modules, integrated deployments into CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshot failed infrastructure deployments.
Python and AWS Lambda are valuable skills for extending the automation ecosystem, but the primary focus of this role is building and managing AWS infrastructure through code.
