Are you a certified welding inspector who wants your work to matter? Join our Aiea team and help keep critical infrastructure and military projects across the islands safe and built to code. You'll work in the field, take real ownership of your projects and work with project managers and technicians who count on your expertise. You'll also keep learning and growing your technical skills along the way.

What you'll do

• Be the expert on site. Read and interpret plans and specifications so every project meets the design.
• Protect quality and safety. Make sure work follows current grading ordinances and building codes.
• Own your documentation. Keep an organized field file with field and lab data, reports, letters and other project records.
• Stay connected. Check in daily with project managers and fellow technicians and inspectors so you always know where each project stands.
• Raise issues early. Talk with your supervisor and project manager every day about field operations, and flag on-site issues before they become problems.
• Report clearly. Prepare, review and submit field paperwork, maps and test sheets every day or week.
• Keep learning. Build your technical skills, with plenty of room to grow and an eye for detail that gets noticed.

What you bring

• High school diploma or GED. A 4-year degree in Earth Science or Engineering is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and comfort with technology, including Word, Excel and apps on a smartphone or tablet.
• The ability to read, analyze and interpret design plans and project instructions.
• Clear, accurate daily report writing.
• Flexibility to work some weekends, occasional overtime and out-of-town travel.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• The ability to pass a background check for access to military installations.
• Basic vehicle know-how, including safety checks and changing a spare tire.
• A commitment to following construction site safety precautions.

Required certifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• NDT Level II for UT (MT certification is a plus)
