ABOUT THE ROLE
This AVP-level Senior Credit Analyst opportunity sits within the Corporate Banking Credit function of a well-established global financial institution, offering dual ownership across independent credit analysis and team leadership. The role carries meaningful responsibility managing a dedicated portfolio of corporate banking credits, preparing and presenting credit memos through the full approval lifecycle, and supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of a team of credit analysts and assistants. RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare accurate, relevant, and timely credit memos across renewals, internal reviews, amendments, and new transactions;analyze financial statements using both quantitative and qualitative factors to draw independent conclusions on counterparty positioning, historical performance, financial condition, and debt repayment capacity
Generate financial projections;compute internal metrics including credit ratings and RAROC;identify and assess credit risks and develop risk mitigation strategies as needed
Follow credit requests step-by-step throughout the approval process;prepare legal checklists and Terms & Conditions for new and refinancing transactions;coordinate with relevant internal and external counterparties to ensure efficient and timely execution
Supervise, manage, and mentor the credit analyst team reviewing analysts'work, tracking schedules, ensuring processes are followed, and fostering a value-added, self-reliant team culture;train and assist analysts in report production as needed
Coordinate, supervise, and review accuracy and relevance of reports prepared by credit analysts and assistants including regular exposure and credit risk monitoring reports, financial information, covenant tracking, and compliance reporting distributed locally and to Head Office
Act as the primary point of contact with Head Office for credit applications and report distribution;facilitate clear and effective communication to ensure deadlines are consistently met
Continuously monitor the corporate banking portfolio;assess impact to key relationships;escalate potential credit issues to Account Officers and Corporate Banking Head proactively
Interface with agent banks and other market participants to source credit and market information essential to credit evaluation across prospects and existing portfolio names
Monitor industry trends;identify potential risk issues requiring escalation;investigate and propose process improvements and reporting automation
Coordinate with credit analysts and assistants on KYC and account opening requirements;review KYC documentation, EDD, Corporate Banking Risk Assessments, and US Patriot Act Certifications in accordance with BSA/AML guidelines and Branch Compliance Manual
Participate in select client calls with Account Officers;attend bank meetings and industry events and conferences as needed
Lead ad-hoc projects assigned to the credit analyst team
