Job Description:
The Area Vice President (AVP), Sales is accountable for providing leadership, direction, and developmental guidance to a team of Regional Business Directors (RBDs) to achieve commercial objectives while ensuring the highest standards of patient focus, compliance, and employee engagement. Reporting to the VP, Sales, the AVP develops and executes regional business strategies, builds high-performing teams, and partners cross-functionally to maximize product performance and improve patient outcomes.
This leader typically oversees 6-8 Regional Business Directors (or equivalent first-line leaders) and a sales organization of 40-50+ Territory Business Managers (TBMs).
Candidates should reside within the West Region, preferably in or near one of the following metropolitan areas: Indianapolis, Detroit, Louisville, Dallas, Austin, Tulsa, Des Moines, Denver, Chicago, Milwaukee, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, Phoenix, or Los Angeles.
This is a highly visible role that will closely partner with all executives across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
Commercial Leadership
Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with corporate objectives.
Deliver sales targets.
Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and performance metrics to identify growth opportunities.
Allocate resources to maximize return on investment.
Leadership & Talent Development
Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional sales leaders.
Coach RBDs to improve leadership effectiveness and business performance.
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Lead succession planning and talent reviews.
Execution Excellence
Ensure consistent execution of brand strategy across the Area.
Monitor key performance indicators and implement performance improvement plans where needed.
Drive adoption of data-driven decision making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with: Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Sales Operations, Training, HR
Compliance, Commercial Analytics, to optimize ongoing business performance.
Compliance & Ethics
Ensure all activities comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Foster a culture of integrity and ethical decision making.

Non-Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
