Base Salary: $80k - $120k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This AVP-level opportunity sits within the Operational Risk Management Department of a well-established global financial institution, offering broad operational and administrative ownership across budget management, people management support, training coordination, risk reporting, business continuity, and records management. The role serves as a critical operational backbone for the department ensuring efficient day-to-day execution across multiple functional areas while maintaining strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. It's an ideal fit for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with financial services experience who thrives in a cross-functional coordinator role and is equally comfortable managing budgets, supporting consultant lifecycles, compiling risk reports, and serving as the department's primary liaison across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the planning and management of the departmental annual expense budget including consulting fees, legal expenses, training costs, and IT fixed assets;ensure accurate budget forecasting, expense tracking, and variance analysis;facilitate procurement processes and centralize invoice payment requests
  • Manage New Hire and Termination Checklist updates;conduct monthly attendance checks;maintain the departmental organizational chart and staffing analysis;coordinate the annual skill assessment process
  • Manage the end-to-end consultant lifecycle including new hire approvals, timesheet approvals, invoice payments, performance evaluations, contract renewals, and all consultant onboarding and offboarding procedures
  • Conduct training needs assessments at department and individual employee levels;submit, implement, and monitor the annual training plan;ensure timely completion of all mandatory training programs;submit required training records to HR with completeness and accuracy
  • Compile comprehensive risk management reports summarizing key departmental activities, achievements, and operational updates for management review;compile and translate Key Initiative Implementation Status Reports, Major Event Reports, and Head Office Reports with accuracy and timeliness
  • Serve as the ORD-BCM team's main departmental point of contact for all business continuity BAU matters;promote BCM awareness;update BCM documentation annually or upon significant changes;coordinate department participation in BCM exercises
  • Assist the Department Head in implementing records management practices including adherence to retention policies, Record Retention Schedules, and related procedures;coordinate active records systems and address escalation issues
  • Assist the Department Head in identifying ABAC Sensitive Parties, Related Transactions, and Sensitive Activities;obtain required approvals and authorizations;maintain open communications with ABAC Sensitive Third Parties;act as primary departmental liaison with the ABAC Manager and Legal/Governance Officer
