Title: AVP / Associate, Payments & Custody Risk Management

Office Status: Hybrid New York, NY

Base Salary: $100k - $150k + Discretionary Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a second-line risk management opportunity within the Enterprise Risk function of a well-established financial institution, focused specifically on Payments Risk and Custodian Banking operations. The role offers a compelling blend of risk governance, operational risk analysis, system implementation support, and MIS reporting making it an excellent fit for a detail-oriented risk professional with a custody or payments background who thrives in a process-improvement driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across all areas of custody services including securities settlement, corporate action processing, withholding tax, and reporting
  • Support the Payments Risk Committee including logistics coordination, governance development, and ongoing risk initiative communications to relevant committees
  • Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses to identify vulnerabilities;review and critically evaluate root cause analyses of payment-related incidents and recommend preventative measures
  • Develop and maintain risk metrics and performance monitoring tools;aggregate the Payments risk profile using appropriate methodologies and investigate breach events
  • Address regulatory inquiries related to Payments risk management in a timely and effective manner;assist with internal audits and compliance matters
  • Participate in system implementation and upgrade projects from a risk management perspective;gather and document user requirements for new systems or enhancements
  • Execute UAT testing, document test results, and track and resolve defects in collaboration with IT and vendor teams
  • Generate and analyze MIS reports to monitor business activities, identify trends, and support risk management decision-making;develop custom reports to meet specific business needs
  • Utilize data analysis to identify process improvement and operational efficiency opportunities
  • Support the Payments Project Management Office within the department on ad hoc workstreams
