    Description

    AVIONICS TECHNICIAN

    HQ Aero is currently recruiting for AVIONICS TECHNICIANSin TUCSON, AZ.

    Responsibilities:
    As an Avionics Technician, you will be required to:
    • Perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.
    • Troubleshoot and repair components detached from the aircraft.
    • Comply with environmental health / safety policies and procedures.
    • Assist with mechanical / electrical removals and installations.
    • May assist with maintenance at off-site locations.
    • Operate ground support equipment if required.
    • Adhere to general work rules and company policies and procedures applicable to work area and job functions.
    Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
    Minimum of 3 years of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience.
    • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) OR Airframe (A) License is required.
    • MRO / Heavy Maintenance -AND- CRJ experience required.
    • Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
    • If former military, those with military experience such as Depot/Isochronal/Phase Inspections are a plus.
    • Certification from Avionics / Electric A/C Technical School or equivalent military/vendor training is preferred.
    • Able to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.
    • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal & written) aircraft status.
    • Ground Support Equipment Qualifications and/or Engine Run Qualification may be required.
    • GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certificate is preferred.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Standard Aviation Tool Kit required.
    • Criminal Background Check & Compliant to FAA Drug and Alcohol screening checks are mandatory.
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in accordance with Title 14 CFR Part 65.
      Job Type:
    • Full-time, Contract
    • Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts |3 days on / 4 days off | 4 days on / 3 days off
    • Shift Hours: 6:30 till 7:00 (day or night) Must be willing to work either shift.
    • Overtime is available.
    Essential Job Functions
    • Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
    • Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance. Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task.
    • Must be computer proficient.
    • Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, Position requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.
    • Work Environment: Ability to work in confined spaces. FAR Part 145 aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment.
