Our client, a leading private aviation company, is seeking an Avionics Shop Supervisor I to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!
Responsibilities:-
Supervise avionics installation projects, assist with Installation pre-planning, manpower allocation & validate system check-out and troubleshooting as required.

Must be able to effectively interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.

Manage avionics installation projects including the following.

Installation pre-planning, manpower allocation, system check-out and troubleshooting as required.

Supervises the daily activities to ensure maximum efficiency and takes necessary action to ensure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated labor and material costs.

Promotes an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed.
-
Contributes to the annual performance evaluation of personnel assigned under their leadership.
-
Monitors and documents employee performance throughout the performance period.
-
Supervises the daily activities to ensure maximum efficiency and takes necessary action to ensure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated labor and material costs.

Monitors and controls overtime.
-
Ensures that qualified personnel are assigned to every task and ensures the use of applicable technical data.
-
Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the firm's repair station manual.

Is able to provide a comprehensive shift turn over to ensure maximum efficiency.

Supports the firm's Vision, Mission and Values statement through achievement of department goals and objectives, contributes to process improvement and the development of strategies that improve customer service and the maintenance process.

Observes and administers company rules and regulations and safety policy and standard operating procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Avionics Manager or Maintenance Operations Manager. Education Airframe Certificate required.
Competencies and Skills:-
In-depth knowledge of current avionics installations, including:

Cabin Wi-Fi Connectivity
-
Cabin Management Systems (CMS)
-
SATCOM (Inmarsat and Iridium)
-
FANS/ADS-B
-
Cockpit upgrades and modifications
-
Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
-
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Corridor.
-
Ability to obtain and interpret required technical data, Service Bulletins (SBs), and Service Information Letters (SILs).
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships through professionalism, tact, courtesy, and sound judgment.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish deadlines, and successfully complete projects in a fast-paced environment.
-
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
-
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the use of hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, and other avionics installation equipment.
-
Willingness to travel and provide on-call and weekend support as required.
Qualifications:-
Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least 1 year of continuous Lead Technician experience performing complex avionics installations on business jets, including Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Dassault/Falcon aircraft.

Must have 812 years of Military or Corporate Aviation experience in avionics installations and troubleshooting.

Comprehensive understanding of avionics and electrical systems, operations, interfacing, and testing utilizing avionics test equipment.

Military avionics schooling and experience will be considered.

Airframe License required.

Must possess own tools.
-
Must pass pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Pay Rate: $67 - $73/hr
