Avionics Electrical Engineer

• Design, analyze, integrate, and test avionics and electrical systems for flight vehicles, ground test assets, and supporting infrastructure. 

• Own electrical hardware through the full development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through component selection, integration, verification, troubleshooting, and vehicle-level testing. 

• Develop and integrate systems involving embedded compute, sensors, instrumentation, power distribution, communications, and other avionics hardware. 

• Evaluate and integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom hardware based on system requirements, performance, reliability, and integration constraints. 

• Ensure electrical designs integrate successfully across subsystem boundaries, including interfaces with flight software, GNC, mechanical systems, propulsion, test, and manufacturing. 

• Develop test plans, test setups, and procedures to verify electrical hardware at the component, subsystem, and integrated-system level. 

• Troubleshoot electrical, communications, power, and integration issues using lab equipment, software tools, and hands-on hardware debugging. 

• Support aircraft build, integration, ground testing, and flight-test activities. 

• Contribute to avionics architecture, engineering standards, design reviews, and technical decision-making as your experience level grows. 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 

• Hands-on engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: 

• Avionics or electrical system integration 

• Embedded computing and electronics 

• Electrical hardware design 

• Power distribution and DC power systems 

• Instrumentation and signal conditioning 

• Digital communications and data buses 

• Analog or mixed-signal electronics 

• Harnessing and electrical interconnects 

• Hardware verification, validation, and test 

• Experience building, testing, troubleshooting, or integrating real hardware. 

• Ability to work across electrical, mechanical, software, test, and systems engineering disciplines. 

• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

• Willingness to work hands-on with hardware in a fast-paced development and test environment. 

• Ability to travel on short notice to support integration and test campaigns.
