What your day looks like
You arrive on the ramp, review the maintenance log, and prioritize work across a mixed fleet: aircraft tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, bag carts, trucks, and other ground service equipment. You fuel and top off fluids, run performance checks, and then dive into advanced diagnostics—electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic—so the operation moves without a hiccup.
Core impact you’ll make
- Perform advanced maintenance and repair on motorized and non‑motorized GSE (tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, trucks, carts, and more).
- Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air; operate and test units to confirm performance.
- Document equipment numbers with a clear description of work to be completed; accurately complete all paperwork and parts tracking.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using manuals and test equipment in line with manufacturer guidance and safety standards.
- Remove, test, repair, or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points, and auditory sensors.
- Check and adjust tolerances for valves, bearings, cams, clutches, and drive shafts.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, replace, repair, or modify: engines and transmissions; electrical systems; brakes; hydraulic and pneumatic systems on mobile lifts and conveyors; bumpers and body panels; bag cart curtains and rods; towing hitches and bars; undercarriages, wheels, and tires; bushings, shafts, end plates, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hoses, and wiring.
- Live our safety culture and PrimeFlight service standards; handle other duties as assigned.
What you bring
- 3+ years of verifiable experience as a mechanic, preferably with GSE, diesel, automotive, or truck equipment.
- Own tools and a toolbox; valid driver’s license.
- 18 years of age or older; dependable attendance at the worksite.
- Fluent in English for reading, writing, and speaking; able to collaborate effectively in person and electronically.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Comfort with iPads/tablets, computers, and mobile devices to access and interpret technical information.
- Flexible availability for a 24/7 airline environment—nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical realities of the role
- Lift up to 70 pounds; spend extended periods standing and walking in indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands; Must be able to push, pull; Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces; Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel; and climb to work at height.
- Work around moderate to high noise, biohazards/chemicals, outdoor elements.
- Hear and respond to spoken instructions and audible alarms.
- Perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Vision needs: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
