A Snapshot of Your Day This role is created to support "future-proofing" the supply chain for Siemens Energy's Gas Turbine (GT) auxiliary systems and other GT components. As a Senior Professional Engineer, the position will provide critical technical expertise to mitigate supply chain risks through early procurement involvement and the development of alternative component sources. The potential structure would be working in a small team with one serving as a lead for the overall tasks. This structure ensures that technical solutions are commercially and technically viable and directly support supply chain resilience. Given the focus on technical specification and risk mitigation, the ideal candidate will possess knowledge of GT auxiliary systems and the engineering design process. A strong background in risk assessment, creating procurement specifications, and experience working independently on complex projects is essential for success in this position. How You'll Make an Impact Creating detailed product definitions of engineered components for second-sourcing initiativesPerform technical system and component engineering assessmentsLead/Coordinate with other engineers tasked with the same high level goalsFacilitating cross-functional collaboration with procurement, engineering and global order managementExpanding beyond core goal of supporting supply chain engineering efforts to support other GT Aux topics What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.4+ years of professional experience in an engineering role, preferably with exposure to gas turbine auxiliary systems.Demonstrated experience in creating technical specifications, component selection, and collaborating with procurement or supply chain functionsTroubleshooting (Problem Solving), Analytical Skills, Risk Assessment Knowledge of SAP tools, product definition of tools for Auxiliaries is a plus Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
