Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Wiring Technician to assist with the assembly and installation of electrical systems for custom automotive builds. This hands-on position involves pre-building wiring harnesses and performing a variety of electrical wiring tasks, including routing, terminating, looming, and installing components.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with automotive electrical systems and be comfortable reading wiring diagrams, organizing wiring harnesses, and ensuring clean, professional installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-build and assemble wiring harnesses for multiple automotive builds and projects.
- Measure, cut, label, route, and organize electrical wiring.
- Perform wire terminating, crimping, splicing, and connector installation.
- Install and organize wire loom to protect and maintain clean wiring systems.
- Route wiring harnesses throughout vehicles according to specifications.
- Assist with the installation and wiring of camera systems and related electrical components.
- Install and wire strobe lighting and other vehicle lighting systems.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical and wiring issues.
- Inspect completed wiring installations for quality, accuracy, and proper functionality.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires approximately 50% standing and 50% seated work.
- Ability to work with small parts and perform detailed hand movements.
- Ability to bend, reach, and work in and around vehicles as needed.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with automotive wiring, electrical systems, or wiring harness assembly preferred.
- Experience with wiring harnesses, connectors, terminals, crimping tools, and wire loom.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical components and 12-volt electrical systems.
- Experience installing or wiring camera systems, lighting, or strobe lights is a plus.
- Ability to follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, organized work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working on vehicles preferred.
