About Independent Automotive Repair Shop

Independent Automotive Repair Shop is seeking a Diagnostic Automotive Technician in Dublin, OH, with flat-rate pay of $30–$55 per flagged hour and approximately 40 flagged hours per week.

This role focuses on advanced electrical, drivability, and mechanical diagnostics and repairs across domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.

Technicians are supported by a General Manager, Service Advisor, and Quality Technician in a heated and air-conditioned shop with consistent workflow and no weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose advanced electrical, drivability, and complex mechanical concerns.
• Perform engine and transmission removal and replacement.
• Complete timing chain and head gasket repairs.
• Service and repair domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
• Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and document repair findings.
• Prepare repair orders with accurate labor times and parts information.
• Use Autel and Snap-on diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot vehicle concerns.
• Mentor developing technicians and support quality repair work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Strong automotive diagnostic, electrical, and drivability skills.
• Experience performing complex mechanical repairs.
• Engine and transmission replacement experience.
• Timing chain and head gasket repair experience.
• Ability to mentor developing technicians.
• ASE Certifications, Tekmetric experience, DVI experience, or prior Lead or Diagnostic Technician experience preferred.
