Job Title: Automotive Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to support vehicle testing, diagnostics, maintenance, and prototype build activities. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, preparing vehicles for testing, installing test equipment, and supporting engineering teams to ensure vehicle readiness and performance throughout development programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on prototype, development, and test vehicles.
  • Support vehicle build, tear-down, and modification activities for engineering and test programs.
  • Install and remove instrumentation, sensors, wiring harnesses, and test equipment.
  • Conduct troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Perform component replacements including brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, and drivetrain systems.
  • Support durability, validation, and road test activities.
  • Document repairs, issues, and test findings clearly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain shop organization, safety compliance, and equipment readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on automotive experience.
  • 2+ years of automotive technician experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with vehicle systems knowledge.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools, multimeters, scan tools, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documents.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with prototype or test vehicles.
  • Knowledge of CAN tools such as CANoe or CANalyzer.
  • Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • ASE certification preferred National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
  • Hybrid/EV vehicle experience is a plus.
