Automotive Technician Responsibilities
As an Experienced Automotive Service Technician at Diehl Ford of Sharon, you will:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle performance concerns
- Perform engine and powertrain diagnostics and repairs
- Diagnose and repair transmissions and drivetrain components
- Perform steering and suspension repairs
- Diagnose and repair brake systems
- Perform HVAC and climate-control diagnosis and repair
- Complete scheduled maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify necessary maintenance and repairs
- Use modern automotive diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and Ford manufacturer diagnostic resources
- Complete warranty, customer-pay, and internal repair work as assigned
- Accurately document vehicle diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations
- Communicate effectively with automotive service advisors
- Follow Ford and dealership repair procedures and quality standards
- Maintain an organized and professional work area
- Complete repairs correctly, safely, and efficiently
Automotive Technician Qualifications
We're interested in experienced automotive professionals with:
- Previous professional automotive technician or auto mechanic experience
- Dealership service technician experience preferred
- Ford dealership or Ford vehicle repair experience is a plus
- Strong automotive diagnostic and mechanical skills
- Experience with electrical diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Ability to independently diagnose and complete automotive repairs
- ASE certifications preferred
- Ford manufacturer certifications preferred
- Strong productivity and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a flat-rate or production-focused environment
- Commitment to quality repairs and fixing vehicles correctly the first time
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Dependable attendance and professional work ethic
Ford experience is preferred but not necessarily required for an experienced technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
