Position Summary

The Service Director is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the Service Department. This individual will drive operational excellence, develop and mentor team members, improve customer satisfaction, and ensure the department consistently achieves its financial and productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Service Department operations, including personnel, processes, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize labor sales, service gross profit, productivity, and technician efficiency.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing service team.
• Establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including CSI, effective labor rate, technician productivity, efficiency, and proficiency.
• Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and revenue objectives to achieve profitability goals.
• Ensure compliance with Volvo standards, manufacturer programs, and dealership policies.
• Work closely with dealership leadership to develop and implement strategies for continued growth.
• Create and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, and manufacturer representatives.

Qualifications

• Proven success in a Service Director, Fixed Operations Director, or Service Manager leadership role.
• Previous luxury or import brand experience preferred; Volvo experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to grow service sales, profitability, and customer retention.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
• Experience managing technicians, advisors, warranty administration, and service operations.
• Proficiency with CDK and Xtime is required.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze reports and drive operational improvements.
• Results-oriented professional with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
