Automotive Mechanic II
Location: Livonia, MI
Employment Type: Long-Term Contract with Potential for Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Overtime: As needed, including potential weekends
Pay: $21–$23/hour
Position Overview
Are you an experienced Automotive Technician looking for a dynamic opportunity with strong potential for advancement?
Due to continued growth, we have immediate openings for Automotive Mechanic II positions at our Livonia, MI facility.
Our team provides contract manufacturing and assembly services to leading companies in the automotive industry. Projects include off-road tactical military vehicles, autonomous/self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles, and other highly technical automotive applications.
Because we work on low-volume, highly technical projects, team members have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while continuously expanding their skills.
Long-term contract positions are available, with potential for direct-hire opportunities for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform automotive mechanical and technician-related work in a contract manufacturing environment.
- Read, understand, and execute written procedures and work instructions.
- Apply well-rounded automotive and mechanical knowledge to highly technical projects.
- Maintain a high level of quality, organization, and attention to detail.
- Work efficiently with a sense of urgency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Adapt to new technologies, processes, and vehicle systems.
- Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of automotive technician/mechanic experience or equivalent military experience.
- Own professional tools and a rolling tool box.
- Well-rounded automotive technician/mechanical knowledge and experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures.
- High level of motivation, urgency, and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Michigan State Automotive Technician certification and/or ASE certifications.
- Automotive electrical experience.
