Group 1 Automotive is hiring Lube Technicians for our Shawnee Mission dealership locations, including Shawnee Mission Kia and BMW/MINI of Shawnee Mission.

As a Lube Technician, you''ll perform essential maintenance services that help keep customer vehicles safe, reliable, and running at their best. You''ll gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced technicians while developing the technical skills needed to advance within the dealership.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid exchanges, filter replacements, and other scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Complete comprehensive multi-point vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs and help ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and performance.
- Conduct digital vehicle inspections, including photos and video documentation, to support transparent communication with customers.
- Accurately document inspection findings, maintenance recommendations, and service results using dealership technology and reporting systems.
- Work alongside experienced technicians to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience with modern vehicle systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area while properly caring for tools, equipment, and customer vehicles.
- Safely operate vehicles and equipment while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and dealership quality standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
- Promptly report damaged, unsafe, or malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Deliver exceptional service by supporting dealership goals and demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a customer-first attitude.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver license.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems (engine, brakes, tires, fluids)
- Ability to perform routine maintenance services, including:
- Oil and filter changes
- Tire rotation and pressure checks
- Fluid checks and topâ€'offs (transmission, coolant, brake, power steering)
- Battery testing and replacement
- Visual inspections of belts, hoses, and filters
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
- Ability to follow manufacturer and shop service procedures
In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:
- Hourly Pay Range: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
- Pay Type: Nonâ€'exempt, hourly position
- Compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with federal and state law for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
