Location: Alpharetta, GA (Onsite) Local Candidates Only
Compensation: $125,000 to $150,000 Base Salary

Role Summary
The Controller serves as a strategic financial partner to operational and executive leadership, supporting the financial performance, compliance, and accounting activities of assigned locations. This role is responsible for improving financial visibility, strengthening controls, enhancing reporting accuracy, and supporting operational decision making.
 
The successful candidate will leverage strong dealership accounting expertise to identify opportunities for process improvement, ensure compliance with reporting requirements, and drive consistency across accounting operations. This is a high impact position that offers significant visibility and influence within a growing organization.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational leadership to improve financial performance and support business decision making
  • Review financial statements, account reconciliations, and reporting packages for accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor Contracts in Transit, receivables, floorplan balances, and key cash flow drivers
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer reporting requirements and internal accounting policies
  • Evaluate accounting processes and implement improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures and financial workflows
  • Analyze accounting schedules and identify opportunities for cleanup and process enhancement
  • Support month end close activities and maintain strong financial controls
  • Monitor working capital performance and key operational metrics
  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to business leadership across assigned locations
Key Requirements
  • Five or more years of experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or dealership finance leadership role
  • Automotive dealership accounting experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of dealership accounting operations, including floorplan financing, Contracts in Transit, tax and title, funding activities, and deal posting processes 
  • Experience reviewing dealership financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, and accounting records
  • Experience supporting OEM reporting and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to evaluate accounting operations and implement process improvements
  • Strong understanding of month end close procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Experience partnering directly with operational leaders to improve business performance
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and evolving environment
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working within large multi location organizations
  • CPA certification or public accounting background
  • Experience supporting companies experiencing significant growth and organizational change
  • Strong process improvement and documentation experience
  • Experience creating and implementing accounting policies and procedures
  • OEM reporting experience
