Overview/Summary:
Provides hands-on technical support for industrial automation, electrical control, instrumentation, and process control systems throughout the facility. Assists with troubleshooting, maintenance, configuration, testing, startup, and repair of PLC, HMI, instrumentation, networking, motor control, and electrical systems used in plant operations. Supports the Automation Engineering group in maintaining reliable and safe operation of plant control systems while assisting with modernization projects, upgrades, outages, and daily operational support. This position wil convert to full time / direct with our client after a period of approx. 3 months.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of industrial control systems, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, motor controls, and electrical systems
• Support maintenance and operation of plant automation systems including PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial communication networks
• Perform field verification of wiring, I/O signals, instrumentation, and control devices
• Assist with startup, commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing of control systems and instrumentation
• Troubleshoot electrical and control issues using drawings, schematics, logic diagrams, and test equipment
• Support VFDs, motor starters, MCC equipment, and related control systems
• Assist with configuration and replacement of field instrumentation including transmitters, switches, analyzers, valves, and related devices
• Maintain documentation including redlines, loop sheets, wiring changes, and troubleshooting records
• Support automation-related preventive maintenance activities
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and engineering personnel during troubleshooting and project execution
• Assist during plant outages, shutdowns, and emergency troubleshooting situations as required
• Maintain inventory of automation and instrumentation spare parts, tools, and test equipment
• Follow all plant safety procedures, electrical safety requirements, and management of change procedures

Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, automation, or controls experience preferred
• Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical or control systems
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation
• Basic computer and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
• Industrial manufacturing or process plant experience
• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or related field
• Experience supporting PLC or DCS systems
• NCCER, ISA, or similar industrial certifications are a plus

Work Environment:
• Industrial manufacturing/process plant environment
• Combination of field work and office/computer work
• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions
• May require callouts, overtime, or outage support as needed

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated equipment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in confined or tight spaces
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and use of hand tools
• Ability to wear required PPE including FR clothing, hard hat, respirator, and safety harness when required
