Over 250 talented professionals will work here and build their careers. It will be a highly robotic and automated factory with products reaching millions of homes in the US. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Davie County, NC. The Automation Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of maintenance operations. This individual will oversee electrical equipment maintenance alongside a team of Automation Electricians.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Electrical Maintenance operations (servo-driven), ensuring reliable and safe functioning of equipment.

      • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on highly automated furniture manufacturing equipment, including electrical control systems, PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, sensors, safety circuits, robotics, conveyors, automated production lines, and other industrial equipment.
      • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, controls, automation, and instrumentation failures to minimize production downtime and restore equipment safely and efficiently.
      • Support robotic and automated production cells, including troubleshooting of electrical controls, safety systems, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
      • Monitor machine reliability, equipment condition, downtime, and maintenance KPIs.
      • Support optimization of machine availability, reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
      • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance according to established schedules, with a focus on electrical, controls, automation, and safety systems.
      • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, automation performance, and maintenance efficiency.
      • Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and continuous improvement initiatives.
      • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, and work orders within the CMMS/SAP maintenance system.
      • Prepare technical reports and root-cause analyses following significant equipment failures and recurring downtime events.
      • Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and implement automation and process improvements.
      • Ensure all electrical and automation maintenance activities are performed in accordance with OSHA regulations, electrical safety standards, and company safety procedures.
      • Guide a team of electricians, providing expertise and mentorship, direction and prioritization.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics or related field preferred).
    • 3+ years of Automation Technical experience in a manufacturing environment (woodworking industry experience preferred).
    • Experience maintaining HOMAG, BÜRKLE, or similar automated production equipment is an advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of servo-driven systems, PLCs.
    • Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and equipment manuals.
    • Experience using CMMS or SAP maintenance systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
