The role supports consistent process performance, reduces unplanned downtime, and enables quick response to equipment and program changes.Key responsibilities include diagnosing issues on automated equipment, completing routine maintenance on controls and related hardware, and applying focused improvements to strengthen automation performance. Early in the shift, you check key equipment behavior and confirm controls are operating as expected, moving between the floor and control areas as priorities shift. When interruptions occur, you work through symptoms step-by-step—validating signals, confirming program versions, and keeping the team updated so production can plan around recovery.
