Automation Technician - 3rd Shift

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Automation Technician job in Salem, MA. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our direct food industry. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of production by troubleshooting and maintaining automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, networking, and production equipment. To be successful in this position, you must have a strong background in automation technology and industrial maintenance. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a food production environment and Yaskawa robotics. This position requires working the third shift

Automation Technician Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, program, and back up PLCs and operator interfaces.
• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC networks, including designing layouts to support new production equipment.
• Ensure PLC laptops have updated software to communicate to all equipment
• Train Maintenance Personnel on PLC troubleshooting and reading ladder logic
• Support palletizing operations by maintaining and troubleshooting Yaskawa robotic systems.
• Install, modify, and maintain production equipment in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations.
• Perform maintenance on plant buildings, machinery, and production equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
• Work a flexible schedule, including coverage for all shifts and occasional weekends as required.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Automation Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two plus years of experience in automation technology, preferably within a food production or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and automation systems.
• Experience with robotics, preferably Yaskawa, is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and preventive maintenance (PM) software is required, along with working knowledge of PLC programming software, industrial automation systems, manufacturing software, database applications, and project management software.
