Nexus Employment Solutions Plus Inc. is hiring a seasoned Automation & PLC Maintenance Technician to support a food manufacturing facility in the Manteno, IL area. If your toolkit includes ladder logic, VFD tuning, and precision troubleshooting, this role is for you.

What you’ll tackle
- Install and maintain plant electrical infrastructure: wiring, conduit, panels, motors, and controls.
- Configure and commission electrical components on new and existing production lines to meet safety and compliance standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to avoid unplanned downtime.
- Use advanced test equipment to pinpoint issues; repair/replace wiring, switches, relays, and circuit breakers.
- Program, troubleshoot, and sustain PLCs; diagnose and correct faults on VFDs and HMIs.
- Conduct electrical safety assessments and implement hazard mitigations.
- Coach operators and maintenance teammates on safe operation and first-line troubleshooting.
What you’ll need
- Fluent with electrical prints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Deep knowledge of AC/DC motors, control circuits, and power distribution systems.
- Proven PLC programming, diagnostics, and repair background.
- Experience working with VFDs, HMIs, and related automation components.
- Comfort using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years as an Industrial Electrical Technician; food manufacturing experience preferred.

- Pay range: $32.00 – $38.00 hourly
- Location: Manteno, IL area (food manufacturing)
