About the Role:

As a CBRE Automation Technician, you will be responsible for complex installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair of automated distribution equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is located at a flagship facility of a major manufacturer.

This position is for 2nd shift (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM), scheduled 4 days a week including Saturday.

Ideal for individuals seeking consistent evening and overnight hours with a stable weekly schedule.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production critical manufacturing equipment.

What You'll Do:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components - photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders.
• Troubleshoot PLC programs including using ladder logic, components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet).
• Troubleshoot and repair the electrical components of self-guided forklifts and automated cranes
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
• Troubleshoot 3 Phase Electrical Motors
• Configure parameters on Variable Frequency Drives
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Support packaging and automated production line equipment
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
• Respond to equipment downtime and complete repairs in a timely manner
• Maintain safe work practices and follow OSHA and site safety requirements
• Use Maximo work order system to document and estimate the time needed to complete repairs
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
• Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You'll Need:

• High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years of job-related experience.
• Engineering Technology Trade School Diploma preferred
• In lieu of a trade school diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders up to 120 feet high with proper fall protection equipment, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits including voltage, resistance, current, and power
• Ability to read electronic and electrical drawings including ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical one-line diagrams.
• Ability to use electrical troubleshooting equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, and circuit tracers.
• Ability to strip wires and crimp terminals
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
