Automation Engineer

1. Responsible for purchasing and design of automation.
2. Responsible for the generation of cost saving opportunities related to automation and the presentation of this to management on a regular basis.
3. Maintains and improves all existing automation machines in the division.
4. Coordinates automation activities with outside suppliers.
5. Generates specifications for new automation machines.
6. Approves designs of new automation machines.
7. Manages construction time schedules to meet the production schedule needs on new automation machines.
8. Responsible for procurement of purchase orders for automation projects at suppliers.
9. Assists in production start-ups as related to automation machines
10. Assists with the troubleshooting of new and existing automation machines. 
11. Oversees each division’s continual improvement of automation machines.
12. Assists other divisions with various automation projects as needed.
13. Required to use a handheld propane torch on the production floor.
