Our client, a well-established engineering-driven organization in Camarillo, California, is seeking a passionate and skilled Automation & Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an Automation & Controls Engineer, you will be an integral part of the engineering department supporting innovative projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Camarillo, California
Pay Range:$90,000 - $120,000
What's the Job?
- Lead controls engineering scope for assigned projects, managing the full lifecycle from planning to support within a single-engineer model.
- Review, draft, and revise P&IDs, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs to ensure compliance with standards.
- Build and wire control panels, perform enclosure fabrication, and follow safety and industry standards such as NEC, UL, and CE.
- Implement and test safety functions, configure operator controls, relays, transducers, pneumatics, motors, and process controllers.
- Develop ladder logic routines and HMI screens, monitor variables, execute test plans, and support regulatory validation processes.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of related controls and automation experience.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Foundational knowledge of ladder logic and HMI development.
- Understanding of pneumatic cylinders, motors, drives, and low-complexity system commissioning.
