Job Description

Support, maintain, and improve plant process control systems and associated automation equipment. Troubleshoot process control, instrumentation, and equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Develop, review, and update technical documentation including P&IDs, I/O drawings, and operating procedures. Manage and execute controls-related capital projects from concept through implementation. Support upgrades and maintenance of manufacturing control networks, computer systems, and automation infrastructure. Coordinate engineering change initiatives while ensuring compliance with company engineering and safety standards. Partner with maintenance and operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimize equipment performance. Provide support for distributed control systems, quality control systems, and related manufacturing technologies. Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and technical teams on continuous improvement initiatives. Assist with commissioning, system modifications, testing, and implementation of new equipment and controls. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through proactive identification and mitigation of operational risks. Provide after-hours technical support for critical controls and automation issues when required.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally within Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Previous experience in process controls, automation, electrical engineering, or industrial manufacturing environments. Understanding of industrial control systems, process automation, and manufacturing operations. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. Experience managing engineering or capital improvement projects. Ability to interpret and update technical drawings, control documentation, and process diagrams. Knowledge of industrial PLCs, HMI systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control technologies. Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when required. Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
