Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automatic Submerged Arc Welder (Twin Wire) to join a growing fabrication team in Sapulpa. This position is responsible for operating automated Twin Wire Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment to produce high-quality box header components while meeting strict production schedules and ASME quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with automated Submerged Arc welding systems, strong blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to producing consistent, code-compliant welds.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience operating Automatic Twin Wire Submerged Arc (SAW) welding equipment required
Experience with box header welding processes preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and welding procedures
Strong understanding of welding safety practices and quality standards
Ability to set up and adjust automated welding equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate Automatic Twin Wire Submerged Arc welding equipment according to production requirements
Perform automated welds on box header assemblies while maintaining quality standards
Set up and adjust welding parameters for optimal weld quality and production efficiency
Monitor welding operations to ensure consistent, defect-free welds
Inspect completed welds and identify defects requiring repair or correction
Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures, welding procedures, and quality standards
Work closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience fabricating ASME box headers or pressure vessel components
Knowledge of automated welding systems and heavy industrial fabrication
Familiarity with welding procedure specifications (WPS) and quality documentation
Experience operating overhead cranes or material handling equipment
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to safely operate automated welding equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding equipment, heat, sparks, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and fabrication facility
Operation of automated Twin Wire Submerged Arc welding systems and heavy equipment
Exposure to welding fumes, heat, sparks, noise, and heavy steel materials
Safety-focused environment requiring PPE at all times on the production floor
