Description

Position: Automated Maintenance Technician
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking experienced Automated Maintenance Technicians to support high-speed automated manufacturing operations in Rochester, NY. This direct hire opportunity offers multiple levels based on experience, ranging from Maintenance Technician II through Senior Maintenance Technician IV. These technicians will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving automated production equipment to maximize uptime, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance. Candidates with strong mechanical, electrical, and automation experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay Rate:

  • $23.00 - $39.00/Hour (Based On Experience)
    • Bonus Eligibility: + 8% Shift Differential on Every Hour Worked

Shift(s):

  • Rotating 12-Hour Schedule:
    • 2 Days: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
    • 2 Nights: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
    • 4 Days Off
      • Crossover Time as Scheduled

Job Duties:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment and production systems
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, robotics, vision system, and automation-related issues
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, equipment issues, and performance improvements
  • Assist with installation, setup, validation, and transfer of new production equipment
  • Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with calibration activities and facility maintenance tasks as needed
  • Follow SOPs, GMP requirements, work instructions, and all safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical training, apprenticeship, vocational education, or equivalent maintenance experience preferred
  • Previous experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and high-speed automation preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Manufacturing, packaging, formulation, or regulated production experience preferred

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing and laboratory environment with automated production equipment
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and hands-on troubleshooting
  • Exposure to moving machinery, chemicals, and regulated manufacturing processes
  • Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule and support production needs
  • Must follow all PPE requirements and workplace safety procedures
