Automated Equipment Maintenance Mechanic

Direct Hire | Full-Time

Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday and Every Other Wednesday

Hours: 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay & Bonus

Pay Range: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour

Compensation is based on experience, skills, certifications, education, internal equity, and market conditions.

Bonus Eligibility: Target annual bonus opportunity of 7%, based on company and/or individual performance.

About the Role

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Automated Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to support highly automated production operations.

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving automated manufacturing equipment and associated mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems. The successful candidate will be a hands-on maintenance professional with strong PLC troubleshooting capabilities and a passion for equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.

  • Utilize PLC software and ladder logic to diagnose and resolve machine control issues.

  • Complete preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Drive equipment reliability and process improvement initiatives.

  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.

  • Support manufacturing process validation activities.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical documentation.

  • Mentor and support less experienced maintenance team members.

  • Respond quickly to equipment issues to minimize production downtime.

  • Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and company procedures.

  • Assist with special projects and support additional shifts or on-call requirements as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, automation, or production environment.

Desired Technical Skills

  • Advanced mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting abilities

  • Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment

  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and ladder logic

  • Ability to troubleshoot industrial networks and control systems

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings

  • Proficiency using meters, instrumentation, diagnostic tools, and maintenance equipment

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards

Certifications

Candidates must be able to successfully obtain and maintain:

  • Automated Equipment Maintenance Mechanic Certification

  • RF Welding Qualification

  • Electrical Safety Qualification

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and clean-room environment

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move materials weighing up to 500 pounds using carts or mechanized equipment

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout a 12-hour shift

  • Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity, including color recognition

  • Ability to work under fluorescent and LED lighting

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
