Olympic Auto Body & Sales is looking for an experienced Collision Shop Detailer who knows how to properly sand and buff freshly painted vehicles and vehicle parts.


This is not just a basic car detailing position. We need someone who has experience working in an auto body/collision repair shop and is comfortable sanding and buffing freshly painted panels to remove minor paint imperfections and achieve a high-quality finished product.


The right person must know how to safely sand, compound, and polish fresh paint without burning through edges or damaging the newly painted finish.


You will also be responsible for final vehicle detailing, including cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors before delivery.

Responsibilities


  • Sand and buff freshly painted vehicles and individual vehicle parts
  • Remove minor dirt nibs, dust, texture and other small imperfections from fresh paint
  • Properly compound and polish repaired/refinished areas
  • Use care around body lines, edges and freshly painted surfaces
  • Inspect finished paintwork before the vehicle is delivered
  • Wash and clean vehicle exteriors
  • Thoroughly vacuum and clean vehicle interiors
  • Clean windows, wheels, door jambs and other areas as needed
  • Inspect vehicles before and after detailing
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle condition
  • Move vehicles throughout the facility as needed
  • Keep the detailing area clean and organized
Qualifications


  • Previous detailing experience in an auto body/collision repair facility is required
  • Must have experience sanding and buffing freshly painted automotive finishes
  • Must understand proper sanding, compounding and polishing techniques
  • Must be comfortable working on freshly painted panels without causing damage
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must take pride in producing a clean, finished vehicle that is ready for customer delivery
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including extended periods of walking, bending and standing
  • Dependable and able to work the full Monday–Thursday schedule
