As an Authorization Representative, the primary responsibility is to support patient care by obtaining timely insurance authorizations and ensuring payer requirements are met for services provided at The Menxe2x80x99s Clinic at UCLA. This includes securing pre-authorizations and referrals for in-clinic procedures, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care, in close coordination with insurance payors, providers, and patients.
In addition to authorization management, the role provides front desk and administrative support within department clinics. Responsibilities include answering and triaging patient phone calls, checking patients in and out, scheduling and confirming appointments, assisting with diagnostic test coordination, and preparing charts and documentation for clinic visits. The position also involves routing requests for medical records and medication refills, assisting with disability and return-to-work forms, and maintaining accurate patient records.
You may be assigned to work at various department clinic locations throughout the community, depending on operational needs, and is expected to provide coverage with a high level of professionalism and patient-centered service. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
