Location: Ridgeland, MS

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an Assurance Manager in the Jackson, Mississippi area (Ridgeland). You will supervise, direct and review audit work through planning, fieldwork and wrap-up, and take part in marketing, networking and business development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the audit team, review workpapers and conclusions and provide on-the-job training
• Assess internal control over financial reporting and recommend improvements
• Advise clients on new accounting pronouncements and draft complex financial statements and disclosures
• Review SEC filings and Section 404 internal control work where applicable
• Plan and oversee the audit process with quality and efficiency
• Prepare required communications to management and audit committees
• Supervise, schedule and coach associates and senior associates
• Manage engagement profitability, billings and collections

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred); Master's in Accountancy preferred
• 5+ years of relevant audit or public accounting experience
• Significant prior supervisory experience
• Active US CPA license required
• Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge; familiarity with SEC and PCAOB rules
