Audit Manager to join their team. The organization provides accounting, audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base and offers a collaborative environment focused on professional development, client service, and long-term career growth.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $110k - $140k Annually, based on experience and qualifications
Position Overview: The Audit Manager will oversee a variety of audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for clients while leading engagement teams, reviewing work, managing budgets and timelines, and providing mentorship to accounting and audit professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager who enjoys client interaction, team leadership, and working on complex engagements.
Responsibilities of the Audit Manager:- Manage multiple audit, review, and agreed-upon procedures engagements from planning through completion.
- Develop engagement plans, including scope, staffing, budgets, and timelines.
- Evaluate audit risks and determine appropriate engagement strategies.
- Apply GAAP, GAAS, and other applicable accounting and financial reporting standards.
- Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and evaluate control deficiencies and communicate findings to clients and firm leadership.
- Monitor engagement progress, budgets, deadlines, and overall profitability.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior-level team members.
- Provide constructive feedback and support professional development.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the engagement.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Assist with proposals and new business opportunities, including developing engagement scopes and fee structures.
- Participate in professional development and training initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Meet established billable hour and performance expectations.
- Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Audit Manager:- 5 - 10 years of progressive public accounting or audit experience.
- CPA license or eligibility to obtain CPA licensure.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, audit procedures, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting and audit professionals.
- Strong client service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities.
- Proficiency with audit and accounting software.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed during peak periods.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Audit Manager:- Previous experience in an Audit Manager or similar management-level role.
- Experience with complex or multi-entity audit engagements.
- Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
- Experience preparing proposals and developing engagement fee structures.
- Experience working with a variety of industries and client types.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA license preferred or eligibility to obtain one.
