A well-established CPA firm providing audit, tax, and advisory services to closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and nonprofit organizations seeks an Audit Manager in Lincolnshire, IL. Full-Time, fully in-office, Monday-Friday. Compensation: $90,000-$130,000 base (depending on experience), plus additional earning potential tied to client responsibility and engagement ownership.

Position Summary: The Audit Manager plays a key leadership role within the firm's audit and assurance practice — managing engagements end-to-end, overseeing teams, and serving as a trusted point of contact for clients. Works closely with the Audit Partner and takes ownership of the audit and review function, helping drive consistency, quality, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage audit and review engagements from planning through completion

- Oversee audits and reviews for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations

- Supervise, mentor, and review work prepared by senior and junior audit staff

- Ensure audits are performed in accordance with professional standards and firm methodologies

- Serve as a primary point of contact for audit clients

- Collaborate closely with the Audit Partner on engagement strategy, scheduling, and execution

- Identify issues, propose solutions, and ensure timely resolution

- Support continuous improvement within the audit practice and firm-wide initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements:

- 6-10+ years of public accounting audit experience

- Prior experience in an Audit Manager role required (held the title at least 3 years at current firm)

- Strong experience managing audits and reviews for both for-profit and nonprofit clients

- Active CPA license required

- Proven ability to manage engagements independently and lead audit teams

- Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills

- Stable employment history; minimal job changes preferred

Compensation & Benefits: Base $90,000-$130,000; health insurance; 401(k) with 4% employer match; CPA support and professional development assistance; approximately 3 weeks of starting PTO. Monday-Friday, standard business hours; in-office (Lincolnshire, IL); commute/relocate required; English required.
