Location: Kansas City, MO (or St. Louis, MO)

Overview

A national professional services firm is seeking an Audit Manager or Director for its Kansas City, Missouri office (St. Louis also considered). This role plans, supervises and controls all phases of assurance engagements for assigned clients and leads decision-making on those engagements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and control all phases of service for assigned clients
• Plan the timing, staffing and execution of assurance engagements
• Lead decision-making on assigned engagements and keep engagement leadership informed
• Prepare engagement letters, discuss terms with clients and estimate fees
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs prepared by staff
• Monitor time budgets and deadlines, communicate important developments to engagement leadership and lead final client meetings

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 6+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis on financial statement preparation, audits, reviews and compilations
• Current CPA license required
• Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting and tax concepts
• Ability to travel to client sites, including overnight travel
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships
• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication and analytical skills
• Client service orientation with ability to expand services and develop new business
