Level II Commercial Audio/Visual Technician Build Your AV Career in North Texas

Ready for more responsibility and bigger commercial AV projects? TradeSTAR is looking for a Level II Commercial Audio/Visual Technician to join an established North Texas technology integrator. This is a long-term opportunity for an AV professional who wants to sharpen their skills, take on more responsibility, and build toward Lead Technician and project leadership roles.

This is commercial construction AV not live events, entertainment, or production.

You ll work on technology systems installed in schools, corporate facilities, healthcare environments, and other large commercial projects, alongside experienced technicians and project leaders.

What You ll Do

As a Level II AV Technician, you ll take on hands-on installation work while operating with general supervision. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Install, identify, pull, and label AV, audio, video, and control cabling

• Terminate coaxial and speaker connections

• Install support structures and cable pathways

• Mount displays, speakers, cameras, and other AV equipment

• Assist with rack builds and equipment integration

• Read blueprints and construction drawings to determine cable paths and device locations

• Perform basic system layout and installation tasks

• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system documentation

• Help maintain as-built drawings and project documentation

• Work alongside Lead Technicians and Project Managers to keep projects moving

• Provide direction and support to Helpers and less-experienced technicians when needed

What You Bring

We re looking for someone with at least 2 years of relevant installation experience, including:

• Commercial AV, low-voltage, communications, or structured cabling experience

• Hands-on experience working on commercial construction sites

• Ability to identify, pull, label, and terminate AV cabling

• Familiarity with audio installation, service, maintenance, and basic system layout

• Ability to read plans and construction drawings

• Basic troubleshooting skills and comfort using common test equipment

• Ability to work from ladders and lifts

• Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic

• Safety-first mindset and dependable attendance

• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a construction team
