Job Summary

Lead the delivery of exceptional audio-visual experiences as our Audio-Visual Supervisor! Reporting to the Director of Production, this role provides leadership and oversight for all audio-visual needs supporting Fine Arts Center Theatre Company productions. You'll collaborate closely with visiting designers, artists, and colleagues across the FAC to bring creative visions to life and ensure a high-quality experience for our audiences. This position plays a key role in fostering collaboration, supporting innovation, and upholding the artistic excellence that defines our performances.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and live mix all FAC mainstage including large Musicals, Plays, and Youth Rep programming.
  • Work with sound designers, music directors, and projection designers to implement their visions.
  • In consultation with the Director of Production, determine and purchase all audio equipment and perishable supplies within approved budgets.
  • Manage and maintain inventory and organization of gear.
  • Manage Over Hire A2s and all over-hire audio technicians for each production.
  • Determine all audio or visual needs for rentals and special events programming for FAC Theatre Company spaces.
  • Participate in requests from the Director of Production with special functions such as openings, fund-raising activities with other FAC departments, and the FAC Youth Reparatory program as assigned.
  • During the Youth Repertory season, provide training and mentorship to all students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in audio or equivalent experience plus three years live mixing musical theatre inclusive of RF and live orchestras.
  • Proficiency in complex digital audio and video systems; fluent with Mac, PC and complex AV programs.
  • Proficiency in technologies including but not limited to Dante, Mainstage, Qlab and MIDI systems.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and repair skills.
  • Familiarity with paging/ monitor systems, networking, Clear Com.
  • Experience programming and mixing on Allen & Heath consoles specifically the S-7000.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and excellent collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from all backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Audio or related field.
  • Five plus years of professional live audio experience
  • Experience as an A2 onstage audio assistant.
  • Experience in video and projections, with a knowledge of various types of equipment and the ability to support designers by leading installation, focus, and troubleshooting efforts, is a plus.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

  • $51,779 to $62,135 per year
