Audio-Visual Project Manager
High-End Residential AV Integration | Nassau County, NY and the NYC Metro Area | Full-Time, Salaried
Our client is an established high-end residential audio-video integration firm specializing in custom home theaters, whole-home automation and smart home systems. The Audio-Visual Project Manager owns the firm's residential projects from the moment sales and design hand them over until the client signs off: the person the client, the architect and the contractor call, and the person the technicians in the field answer to. The work splits between the Nassau County office and jobsites across the city, and it calls for someone who understands the systems well enough to catch a problem before it becomes one, and who runs a schedule, a budget and a crew without being reminded.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage several residential AV integration projects at once, from handoff through installation, programming, client walkthrough and closeout.
• Work with sales, design and engineering to set project scope, schedule and budget, and hold each project to them.
• Serve as the main point of contact for the client, the architect, the general contractor and the other trades.
• Direct the lead and mid-level technicians in the field: sequencing, staffing, installation quality and how the crew conducts itself in an occupied home.
• Walk the site, catch field conditions that differ from the drawings, and resolve technical and logistical problems as they come up.
• Keep project documentation current: change orders, progress reports, as-builts and closeout packages; track equipment orders against the schedule.
• Stay current with the platforms and products the firm installs.
Qualifications
• Several years managing residential AV integration projects, or a senior technician or lead who has been running projects and is ready to step up.
• Strong working knowledge of AV systems, smart-home technology and automation platforms, in particular Savant, Crestron, Control4 and Lutron.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, AV schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Organized across several jobs at once: scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation; comfortable with project management software.
• Polished with affluent homeowners, architects and contractors; clear in writing and on the phone.
• CTS, CEDIA or PMP certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Benefits
• Benefits eligibility begins after three months of satisfactory full-time employment.
• Ten paid holidays and ten paid time off days accrued annually.
• Company-sponsored medical, dental and vision plans at low weekly employee cost.
• Long-term disability and life insurance paid entirely by the company.
• 401k with a company match of 50% on the first 5% contributed, available pre-tax or Roth.
• Pre-tax transit and parking program covering MTA, LIRR, Metro North and NJ Transit.
Compensation
Base salary of $85K to $110K depending on experience, on the company payroll, plus the benefits above. The firm will consider a higher figure for a candidate who clearly warrants it.
