This position will lead the development of audio electronics from architecture to integration of all Tesla vehicles and robots. Specifically, it will take on audio technology innovation and adoption, audio electrical design and validation in the Audio team, and the vehicle integration effort with System SW and Audio DSP teams. It will also partake in diagnostic test implementation and data collections from the manufacturing environment and vehicle fleet.

  • Responsible for audio electronics products (amplifier, microphone, automotive audio bus, DSP, etc.) from inception to end of life
  • Own electrical schematics, oversee layout, conduct DFM in a standalone device or as a part of the design
  • Explore new audio technologies and components towards future electrical architecture
  • Work closely with audio architects to define and update audio features on the roadmap
  • Component and system level troubleshooting, testing of audio systems and components in lab and in the field
  • Plan, execute, interpret, and document validation testing
  • Work with suppliers on design and testing of audio products. Interpret, document and manage product drawings and specifications
  • Work with other Tesla design teams (Physical layout, EMC, Harness, Design, Thermal, Interior, Test, Manufacturing, etc.) on the integration of the Audio system components
  • Work with Audio PM on Team Task Management; document project tasks, workflow, priorities and timing of each
  • Degree in Engineering, or proof of exceptional skills in related field, with minimum 5 years of experience, or equivalent experience
  • Solid technical depth and breadth in analog and digital circuit analysis and design
  • Solid technical depth in audio products (electronics and acoustics) developing audio products from scratch
  • Ability to work closely with design, software, testing and manufacturing teams
  • Skilled working with cross functional team members from multiple disciplines to reach fact-based decisions
  • Previous Audio DSP, System Integration, Product Development, & CAD Design exposure
  • Have experience with environmental constraints (temp, humidity, and vibration), regulatory compliance and relative product debug
  • Technical and Product Management skills to communicate and drive internal teams and external suppliers

Expected Compensation

$120,000 - $288,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
