This position is a legal role focusing on special education, civil rights, labor, and employment matters.
Under the Chief Legal Counsel, the attorney conducts investigations, represents the District at hearings and before agencies, negotiates agreements, and handles litigation including administrative complaints, due process hearings, and civil court cases.
The role involves providing legal advice, supporting investigations (e.g., Title IX, discrimination), and representing the District in labor arbitrations and civil litigation.
The attorney develops expertise in compliance with relevant laws, advises management, and leads initiatives to ensure legal and regulatory adherence.
Qualifications include a current Ohio Bar membership (or pending), 5 years’ experience in at least two of the specified areas, strong communication skills, ethical standards, and the ability to work independently.
Work involves office activities, occasional travel, and physical demands consistent with an office environment.
