Attorney, Real Estate

A well-established law firm win the Elmhurst area of Queens is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to join its growing department. The firm has an immediate need and is looking to fill this role as soon as possible. The firm is seeking an attorney with real estate transaction experience to represent clients in residential and commercial purchase transactions, working closely with the firm's attorneys and paralegal staff. This is a close-knit team environment with real opportunity to build a book of business. Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in real estate law to be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Representing clients in real estate purchase transactions from contract through closing
• Reviewing and preparing closing disclosures (CDs) and related closing documents
• Coordinating with banks and lenders on financing, payoffs, and closing requirements
• Reviewing title, survey, and municipal search results and resolving issues as they arise
• Conducting or attending closings on behalf of clients
• Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, and title companies throughout the transaction
• Collaborating with paralegals and firm attorneys on file management and workflow

Requirements:

• Active admission to the New York State Bar
• 1+ years of experience in real estate law, including purchase transactions, CD preparation, and bank/lender coordination
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work in person, based out of the firm's Elmhurst office

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary dependent on experience plus incentive pay (additional earning potential of up to $20,000/year)
• 401(k) with employer match after one year of service, up to 4%
• Medical insurance, with 50% of the premium covered by the firm
