A well-established Southern California litigation practice is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3–5 years of experience who is interested in building a long-term career as a trial lawyer.
Attorneys in this role receive meaningful responsibility from the outset, including direct client interaction, deposition experience, motion practice, court appearances, and extensive trial preparation exposure. The practice handles a diverse mix of complex business litigation, employment defense matters, contract disputes, fraud claims, investment litigation, real estate litigation, and related commercial litigation matters.
The firm values attorneys who are outgoing, professional, and comfortable developing relationships with clients and referral sources. Candidates should be interested in becoming trusted advisors while continuing to develop litigation and advocacy skills.
Responsibilities
Handle business and commercial litigation matters
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and factual investigations
Take and defend depositions
Participate in court appearances and motion hearings
Assist with trial preparation and trial strategy
Manage client communications and case updates
Collaborate with attorneys on litigation strategy
Contribute to business development and relationship-building efforts
Qualifications
3–5 years of litigation experience required
Active California Bar license in good standing
California Bar Exam passed on first attempt required
Top ABA-accredited law school required
Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills
Experience with depositions and motion practice preferred
Employment litigation experience preferred but not required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to developing as a long-term litigator
1740 billable hour requirement
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $165,000–$190,000
