Summary
SUMMARY
This position performs a variety of complex, high level administrative, technical and professional work in prosecuting/conducting civil lawsuits, drawing up legal documents, advising county officials as to legal rights, obligations, practices other phases of applicable local, state and Federal law.

Mandatory Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and a J.D. (law) degree are required. The individual should possess a thorough working knowledge of law enforcement and court procedures and practices. Over three (3) years of experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The individual must have a Texas Law license and be a member in good standing with the State Bar Association.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITES:

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
