The right candidate is a committed advocate who connects genuinely with clients, is not afraid of a courtroom, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•     Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters from initial intake through settlement or verdict
•     Conduct thorough client intakes, evaluate case merits, and counsel clients on legal strategy and case progression
•     Investigate facts, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and coordinate with investigators and experts
•     Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal briefs
•     Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses
•     Negotiate settlements with defense counsel and insurance adjusters on behalf of clients
•     Prepare cases for trial including exhibit preparation, witness preparation, and trial strategy development

•     Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other case documentation
•     Communicate consistently and professionally with clients, keeping them informed and confident throughout the process
•     Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to manage case workflows efficiently
•     Meet deadlines, manage statutes of limitations, and maintain accurate case management records

PRACTICE AREAS

The firm handles a broad range of plaintiff personal injury matters. Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

•     Motor vehicle accidents — automobile, truck, motorcycle, and rideshare
•     Trucking and commercial vehicle litigation
•     Premises liability — slip and fall, negligent security, inadequate maintenance
•     Products liability and defective consumer goods
•     Medical malpractice and healthcare negligence
•     Wrongful death
•     Workplace injuries and workers’ compensation
•     Catastrophic injury — traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, burn injuries
•     Uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims

REQUIREMENTS

•     Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
•     Active Alabama State Bar license in good standing — required
•     Minimum 2 years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience — preferred; strong candidates with transferable litigation backgrounds will be considered
•     Proven ability to manage cases independently from intake through resolution
•     Experience taking and defending depositions
•     Working knowledge of Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence, and personal injury case law
•     Demonstrated negotiation skills with insurance adjusters and defense counsel
•     Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to clients
•     Client-first mentality — genuine empathy and commitment to the people you represent
•     Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines and priorities
•     Proficiency with case management software and standard legal technology platforms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•     First-chair jury trial experience in Alabama state court
•     Experience with catastrophic injury cases or high-value settlements
•     Existing network of referral relationships in the Birmingham legal or medical community
