PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This position serves as the primary point of contact for student attendance. This role supports the implementation of district and building plans for student attendance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Serves as the primary point of contact in supporting student attendance.
Utilizes a data-based approach to initiate early identification of students who do not meet attendance expectations.
Work with building staff to ensure attendance codes are implemented in accordance with district guidelines.
Arranges individual or group problem solving sessions related to successful class attendance.
Responsible for parent outreach in accordance with established building attendance processes.
Responsible for referring students with attendance concerns to the building-based attendance problem solving team.
Participates in building level attendance problem solving teams.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required, additional post-secondary hours preferred, 3-5 years of experience working with children preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of outside agencies for family resources.
Ability to work in an urban school environment.
Ability to navigate different computer software programs that include but are not limited to: Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and PowerSchool platform.

WORK CALENDAR: 10 Months
WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.

The Physical Requirements of the Position
X Light Work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rate for Light Work.
The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision
X Machine Operations inspection, close assembly, clerical, administration. This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading, or visual inspection.
